NKorea launches rocket

Apr. 5 - North Korea launched a long-range rocket over Japan, drawing swift international condemnation and sparking a U.N. Security Council meeting.

Pyongyang said the launch was of a satellite, while the U.S., South Korea and Japan considered it a test of a ballistic missile designed to carry a warhead as far as Alaska.
