In the West Bank town of Bethlehem, revered as Jesus' birth place, hundreds of Palestinian Christians and pilgrims from around the world flocked to the Church of Nativity for Easter Sunday mass.
In Jerusalem, several thousand pilgrims arrived in the Old City's Church of the Holy Sepulchre where they attended a festive mass to celebrate Jesus' resurrection.
In the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, the small Christian community also convened for mass with prayers and hymns in a local church.
Easter Sunday marks the day that according to Christian belief, Jesus was resurrected three days after his death by crucifixion.
