Close shave for Indian elephant

May 30 - Forest rangers in the Indian state of West Bengal rescue an elephant after it falls into the ditch.

An elephant in West Bengal got into a scrape after walking through a tea estate and falling into the ditch.

Forest officials rushed to his rescue with a crane, lifting the majestic elephant, believed to be around 11 years old from the hole.

The elephant wasted no time, jumping to his feet after being rescued and running away from the ditch into the forest as fast as can be.
