They're bracing for the worst. Typhoon Haima, a category 5 storm, is approaching the northern Philippines, the strongest typhoon to threaten the region since Typhoon Haiyan in November, 2013. FILE Haiyan killed more than 10,000 people in the Philippines alone, devastating towns and villages in its path. The country is still recovering, but now, they're being threatened again. (SOUNDBITE) (Filipino) FISHERMAN, ROLLY PIANO, SAYING: "We're anxious and afraid. We heard the approaching typhoon is worse. I can feel something different in the sea." Officials say Haima could wreak havoc, causing flooding, landslides and storm surges of more than 16 feet. Thousands along coastal communities have been pre-emptively evacuated. Filipino authorities say, three years after Haiyan, they hope early action will prevent history from repeating itself.
