President-elect Donald Trump says he'll leave his business empire. But he didn't say what he would do with his assets. The billionaire tweeted Wednesday morning, "I will be leaving my great business in total in order to fully focus on running the country..." He said he would outline his plans at a press conference with his children on December 15. He also said, "I feel it is visually important, as President, to in no way have a conflict of interest with my various businesses." The announcement comes as he faces pressure from critics who say his businesses could create unprecedented conflicts of interest. Federal law would not prohibit him from being involved in private business while in office, but ethics experts say his Trump Organization - a global network of businesses ranging from hotels and golf courses to licensing deals - could create conflicts of interest. Trump said during the campaign he would likely transfer operations of his company to his children, but experts say that wouldn't do much to insulate him. Most presidents place their personal assets in blind trusts.
