ROUGH CUT - SUBTITLED (NO REPORTER NARRATION) New images have emerged from aboard the doomed flight that virtually wiped out Brazilian soccer side Chapecoense as reports emerge that the tragedy was due to a lack of fuel on the plane. According to a recording of the pilot's final communications, he had reportedly radioed before the crash that he was running out of fuel and in an emergency. The Monday (November 28) disaster killed 71 people and has shaken the global soccer world. But in the lead up the the crash, crew on board the flight were in good spirits. "It is very important to know they use a Bolivian company, being a Brazilian team, so we are able to transport them to Medellin," said co-pilot Sissy Arias. The pilot of a LAMIA Airlines plane that crashed in Colombia, virtually wiping out a Brazilian soccer team, had radioed that he was running out of fuel and needed to make an emergency landing, audio from the flight control center showed. "We are in a fuel emergency, that is why I ask you for the final instructions immediately," the pilot of the LAMIA 933 flight told the operator. After several requests for instructions to land, including altitude and course directions, the operator directed the flight to approach the airport runway, which was wet with rain, she said. At this point, the flight was just over eight miles (13 kilometers) from the runway. The LAMIA pilot also said he was experiencing electrical difficulties before uttering a final, "Jesus", when the radio went silent.
