From a lost suitcase - to a standing ovation - all the way to getting on stage with a French rapper... The 'Patti Cake$' team lived Cannes to the full. After their film closed this year's Directors' Fortnight - the team made their way to the closing party. Here, the free cocktails flowed and the team enjoyed a performance by the rapper Deen Burbigo. The rap theme makes sense when you know 'Patti Cake$' is the story of an aspiring rapper played by Australian Danielle Macdonald. The film is a bittersweet comedy about Patricia - a girl from New Jersey who dreams of escaping poverty through a career in rap. The movie got rave reviews at the Sundance film festival and a standing ovation at its Cannes screening. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTRESS, DANIELLE MACDONALD, SAYING: "I am feeling really relieved, it's hard not to, I dunno it was er, you kinda get emotional you know it's really amazing that to experience - there's not really words for it.'' Macdonald has received strong reviews for her first lead feature role. And she explained she's had an eventful time at her debut Cannes. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTRESS, DANIELLE MACDONALD, SAYING: ''It's been amazing cos there's all these kind of fancy parties that you go to and we're in this like beautiful location and it's such a beautiful place, but then you know my bags got lost and then last we got stuck in an elevator for 20 minutes, everyone was just pouring with sweat and we climbed out of the elevator once they wrenched the doors open it was crazy you know." Macdonald's first Cannes has proved a success... If the reviews are anything to go by - it might not be her last time at one of the world's biggest film festivals.
