Basketball superstar LeBron James' Los Angeles home was vandalized with a racial slur, police said on Wednesday, one day before the Cleveland Cavaliers player was set to take the court in the first game of the NBA finals. Nathan Frandino reports.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) LEBRON JAMES, NBA STAR, SAYING: "Racism will always be a part of the world, a part of America." NBA superstar LeBron James reacting to an act of vandalism at his Los Angeles home... a day before he and the Cleveland Cavaliers are set to play in the NBA Finals. Police said a racial slur was spray-painted on the front gate of his home. The graffiti reportedly included the "N-word." It was discovered shortly after dawn on Wednesday and has since been painted over. James, an African American, has spoken out on race relations before. He says the incident is a reminder of the country's struggle. (SOUNDBITE) (English) LEBRON JAMES, NBA STAR, SAYING: "Being black in America, it's tough. And we got a long way to go for us as a society and for us as African Americans until we feel equal in America." Investigators are still searching for any possible suspect involved in the vandalism. The Cavaliers are scheduled to face off on Thursday against the Golden State Warriors in Oakland, California.
