ROUGH CUT. NO REPORTER NARRATION. National Turkey Federation chairman Carl Wittenburg introduced turkeys 'Drumstick' and 'Wishbone' to Washington, D.C. during a 5-star ceremony at the luxury Willard Hotel on Monday (November 20). Wittenberg explained that one of the turkeys will be the National Thanksgiving Turkey and the other will be his 'wingman'. The turkeys arrived at the Willard on Sunday (November 19) evening and the general manager said they enjoyed a "good night's sleep", saying the hotel has been welcoming the Turkeys to Washington ahead White House pardoning ceremony for more than 10 years. On Tuesday (November 21), President Donald Trump will pardon the National Thanksgiving Turkey in the Rose Garden in what will be the 70th anniversary of the National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation, the White House said in a statement. Both birds were raised in Minnesota and will head to Virginia Tech's "Gobblers Rest" educational facility following the pardoning ceremony.
